Message From The Associate Chair Education/DEC

The Department of Medical Imaging at McMaster University values excellence in teaching and education. Our department is committed to enhancing undergraduate and postgraduate educational experiences, as well as the development and promotion of faculty members as educators, scholars and mentors.

Our faculty and postgraduate trainees are interested and involved in promoting our clinical specialty at the undergraduate level, aiming to increase interest and awareness of Diagnostic Radiology as a field of specialty.

At the postgraduate level, our residency program represents a standard of excellence. Our program has a strong national reputation for teaching excellence and qualification success, all within an engaged and personalized learning environment. Year after year those candidates recruited to our program join a closely linked, motivated and positive peer group. Our resident graduates meet with success in their careers and continually share with us their fond memories of a great learning experience here at McMaster.

Our Clinical Fellowship programs attract candidates from Canadian and international programs. In joining us for their post residency training, fellows bring to McMaster continued enthusiasm and interest as they expand their career goals through sub specialization. We enjoy the rich experience of an international family of fellowship graduates working and educating throughout the globe.

Our faculty are committed teachers who value education through their clinical work, and educational opportunities. It is my role as Associate Chair Education to foster and promote excellence in clinical training, teaching and educational scholarship in our learners and leaders. As a department, we look forward to maintaining our strengths, along with the development of new ideas and innovations in radiology education.
